Entire Illinois State of the State Address Bleeped Out

Friday’s State of the State address, delivered by Governor Rod Blagojevich, was redacted from the public record in its entirety.  Those in attendance, including members of the State Assembly, the Illinois Judiciary, and esteemed local politicians, expressed shock at the appalling language with which the governor described his agenda for the upcoming year.

“At times I wasn’t sure whether he was delivering the State of the State, or doing play-by-play commentary for a snuff film,” said Secretary of State Jesse White.  “He actually said he was going to [bleep] the state [bleeping] bond issue and [bleep] it two feet deep with a [bleeping] [bleep],” White told reporters after the conference.

Other politicians who attended the address reported seeing Attorney General Lisa Madigan begin to sweat and become flushed as the speech continued.  “She was panting for air and squirming in her seat the entire time,” said Senate Speaker Emil Jones.  Madigan brushed past reporters on the way to her office after the speech, only briefly saying that she “needed to cool off in private.”

House Minority Leader Tom Cross delivered his party’s rebuttal to the Governor’s proposed agenda, stating that “the citizens of this state will not stand by as the Governor and his liberal cronies attempt to... well, I’m not sure what they’ll attempt, but it apparently involves [bleeping] down the throats of us [bleeping][bleep]-wads.”
